7 Things I’ve Learned in 70 Years

I turned 70 this summer and as I have been reflecting on my beautiful life I realized that there have been wonderful life lessons I have learned. I am excited to share with you the 7 most important things I’ve learned in my 70 years!

  1. In everything you do, acknowledge, serve and trust God! Whether it is in the church, marketplace or secular environments, it is so important to live with an awareness of Him.
  2. Stay true to your purpose and never give up on your dreams. No matter how long it takes, you’ll find success if you stay true to yourself and your purpose. Never give up!
  3. Don’t despise small beginnings, instead nurture them and watch them grow.
  4. It is so important to accept and love yourself.
  5. Be honest with yourself and improve yourself in every way.
  6. Be transparent in personal relationships. It is so important to be surrounded by people you can be yourself around. Make sure you are selective in who you associate with because your inner circle will influence you. Be sure that all your personal relationships are righteous.
  7. Be willing to accept constructive criticism. We can’t always have it all together so invite people you trust and respect to speak into your life.

Love, Raina

    Raina,
Amen! Your 7 things (number of completion) surely covers some powerful truths that are life-impacting. For me, the first, Prov 3: 5-6, is our family scripture passed down from my grandfather, to my father, to me, my children and my great nieces. Yes … your 7 at 70 is ageless — it is relevant to the young teenager sometimes coping with low self esteem to the athlete disappointed that he didn’t score as many baskets as he hoped to the 50-yr-old mother who neglected to love and attend to herself properly to the grandmother questioning her purpose. So, now that I’ve introduced you to my family :)… Your morsels are like a spa — I come expecting to be refreshed — nourished and, I am. Yep, thank you for having the willingness to write it down and make it plain. You, my friend, are a “doer.”
    Thank you for sharing,
    Karen Wilson.
