Prayer

Do not take prayer for granted. Prayer is not a legal obligation it is a divine privilege.

Read: I Kings 8:28-30

that Your eyes may be open toward this temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ‘My name shall be there,’ that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place. 30 And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive.

It’s People

It is not nations that have to repent to cause God to move, it is people. When people sincerely repent God moves on their behalf.

Read: 2 Chronicles 33:12-13

But while in deep distress, Manasseh sought the Lord his God and sincerely humbled himself before the God of his ancestors. 13 And when he prayed, the Lord listened to him and was moved by his request. So the Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh finally realized that the Lord alone is God!

Justice

There are so many areas in our society that need one thing. Amos long ago called out for Justice, Martin Luther King called out for justice a short while ago. Let’s continue to make that call before Justice gets lost.

Read: Amos 5:23-24

23 Away with your noisy hymns of praise!
I will not listen to the music of your harps.
24 Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice,
an endless river of righteous living.

Edify

You have it in you to lift up your fellow man with words of encouragement so use them!

Read: Ephesians 4:29

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Be Productive

This is not a time to sit idle doing nothing. Get busy and be productive.

Read: Jeremiah 29:5-7

5 Build houses and dwell in them; plant gardens and eat their fruit. 6 Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters—that you may be increased there, and not diminished. 7 And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

Not Easy

In many cases, especially this case, the easy way is not the right way to go.

Read: Matthew 7:13-14

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Treated

Treating people the way you want to be treated is a very good idea.

Read: Matthew 7:12

Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Don’t Give Up

You may have tried to share the truth with others and it may have seemed to have fallen on deaf ears, but don’t give up.

Read: Isaiah 55: 10-11

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,

And do not return there,

But water the earth,

And make it bring forth and bud,

That it may give seed to the sower

And bread to the eater,

11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Favor

God’s favor opens doors that no one can shut.

Read: Esther 2:17

The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
