Good Things

Focus on the good things He has done.

Read: Psalms 103:1-5

1 Let all that I am praise the Lord;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
2 Let all that I am praise the Lord;
may I never forget the good things he does for me.
3 He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
4 He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
5 He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

Shine

Stop complaining! The world is what it is. You have work to do, so shine.

Read: Philippians 2:14-16

14 Do everything without complaining and arguing, 15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. 16 Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.

Give Your Attention

Everything seems to be moving too fast or too slow, maybe not moving at all as you try to keep up – that’s when to stop! Fix your eyes and put all of your attention on the Lord.

Read: Hebrew 12:1-3

12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Consequences

Don’t be fooled. Everyone will experience the consequences of their own bad behavior eventually.

Read: Hosea 8:4

and princes without my approval.
By making idols for themselves from their silver and gold,
they have brought about their own destruction.

Take Charge

We must take charge of every word we speak and every thought we think and we can do this.

and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
