Rest

It is important to follow these instructions today.

Read: Hebrews 4:6-7

So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. 7 So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted:

“Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.”

Understanding

Understanding the why…understanding the truth makes all the difference in the world.

Read: John 3:17

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Honors

Don’t take God lightly. God honors those who honor Him.

Read: I Samuel 2:30

“Therefore, the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I promised that your branch of the tribe of Levi[a] would always be my priests. But I will honor those who honor me, and I will despise those who think lightly of me.

Open The Door

No one has to wait. He is waiting on you to open the door.

Read: Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Not An Option

You may get tired … so rest! But quitting is not an option.

Pretending

People who are pretending to be nice will be exposed publicly.

Read: Proverbs 26:24-26

24 People may cover their hatred with pleasant words,
but they’re deceiving you.
25 They pretend to be kind, but don’t believe them.
Their hearts are full of many evils.
26 While their hatred may be concealed by trickery,
their wrongdoing will be exposed in public.

Unbelief

If you want God’s rest you must get rid of all unbelief.

Read: Hebrews 3:19

19 So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.

First Things First

Get the understanding of the Word in your own heart first then share it no matter what.

Read: Ezekiel 3:10-11

10 Then he added, “Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself. 11 Then go to your people in exile and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Do this whether they listen to you or not.”

Then We Receive

When we are responsible and when we take care of our responsibilities staying faithful, then we receive.

Read: Hebrews 3:14-15

14 For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. 15 Remember what it says:
“Today when you hear his voice,
don’t harden your hearts
as Israel did when they rebelled.”

Second Responsibility

We must warn each other to prevent us from going the wrong way.

Read: Hebrews 3:13

13 You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.
