The Gift of Friendship

I believe that friendship is one of life’s most precious gifts. Over the years the Lord has blessed me with some beautiful friendships! Some of the friendships I’ve made have been with me through every chapter of my life, while others have been seasonal friendships. I have learned so much from the people in my life and so many of them have written in the pages of my life and I am forever grateful for the growth I’ve experienced over the years, through friendship. I believe that friendship serves as a beautiful depiction of our relationship with Jesus and there is so much to be learned about our earthly relationships from Him.

If there is anything I’ve learned it’s that the most important thing in any relationship is trust. True friendship requires vulnerability. If we cannot trust our friends with our hearts and with the things we hold dear, then we have no foundation to build upon. It is crucial to create friendships with people who are safe and have your best interest in mind.

It is also important for you to be a safe place for the people in your life. I believe that an important part of friendship is not burning bridges when facing problems in relationships. No matter what may come, if they are a true friend, do not allow anger and frustration ruin years of history. You never know who the Lord may bring back into your life. I truly believe that sometimes the Lord puts people in our lives that hold the keys to our breakthrough and it is important to live with an open heart to protect our connections with others.

Recently a friend of mine from years ago reached out to me and sent me a sketch she had done of me when we were young. It was so nice to reconnect with her and to catch up after years apart. There is no distance in the spirit and therefore as we pray for our friends, wherever they may be we are all connected! This provides an amazing avenue for the Lord to minister to our hearts and to keep our relationships alive no matter where we are. It is so fun how the Lord has a divine plan for every relationship in our lives. I truly believe He knows who we need and when we need them!

Love,

Raina

Your Steps

You don’t have to know everything as long as God is directing your steps.

Read: Proverbs 20:24

The Lord directs our steps,

so why try to understand everything along the way?

Hold It

You may have an opinion but sometimes the best thing you can do is hold your tongue.  Be quiet.

Read: James 3:5

Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.
