Anyone who answers without listening
is foolish and confused.
Hear the whole story before you respond.
Read: Proverbs 18:13
Anyone who answers without listening
is foolish and confused.
Never take it for yourself but always give credit when it is due.
Read: Psalm 139:13-14
You made my whole being;
you formed me in my mother’s body.
14 I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way.
What you have done is wonderful.
I know this very well.
You can control your thoughts.
Read: Philippians 4:6-8
Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks. 7 And God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Brothers and sisters, think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.
This has been given to us!
Read: John 14:27
I leave you peace; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
It is the Lord who keeps us safe.
Read: Psalm 4:6-8
Many people ask,
“Who will give us anything good?”
Lord, be kind to us.
7 But you have made me very happy,
happier than they are,
even with all their grain and new wine.
8 I go to bed and sleep in peace,
because, Lord, only you keep me safe.
A forever rock is available to you.
Read: Isaiah 26:3-4
You, Lord, give true peace
to those who depend on you,
because they trust you.
4 So, trust the Lord always,
because he is our Rock forever.
Don’t laugh when you should be crying. Life is not a bowl of cherries all the time.
Read: James 4:9-10
Be sad, cry, and weep! Change your laughter into crying and your joy into sadness. 10 Humble yourself in the Lord’s presence, and he will honor you.
Give yourself completely to God and guard your thoughts too.
Read: James 4: 7-8
So give yourselves completely to God. Stand against the devil, and the devil will run from you. 8 Come near to God, and God will come near to you. You sinners, clean sin out of your lives. You who are trying to follow God and the world at the same time, make your thinking pure.
God wants us and created us for Himself. He will not share us, only bless us.
Read: James 4:5-6
Do you think the Scripture means nothing that says, “The Spirit that God made to live in us wants us for himself alone”? 6 But God gives us even more grace, as the Scripture says,
“God is against the proud,
but he gives grace to the humble.”
Acknowledge quickly when you’re wrong. You will avoid unnecessary arguments this way. Stay open to receive.
Read: James 4: 1-4
Do you know where your fights and arguments come from? They come from the selfish desires that war within you. 2 You want things, but you do not have them. So you are ready to kill and are jealous of other people, but you still cannot get what you want. So you argue and fight. You do not get what you want, because you do not ask God. 3 Or when you ask, you do not receive because the reason you ask is wrong. You want things so you can use them for your own pleasures.
4 So, you are not loyal to God! You should know that loving the world is the same as hating God. Anyone who wants to be a friend of the world becomes God’s enemy.
