Wilderness

Even if you’re in the wilderness continue to obey God who will give you life.

Read: Ezekiel 20:13

13 “But the people of Israel rebelled against me, and they refused to obey my decrees there in the wilderness. They wouldn’t obey my regulations even though obedience would have given them life. They also violated my Sabbath days. So I threatened to pour out my fury on them, and I made plans to utterly consume them in the wilderness.

Your Friend

Stay close to your friend who is near. Never abandon a close friend.

Read: Proverbs 27:10

10 Never abandon a friend—
either yours or your father’s.
When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance.
It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.

Who Pays The Price

As much as we want to, we cannot pay the price for our children and our children cannot pay the price for us.

Read: Ezekiel 18:19-20

19 “‘What?’ you ask. ‘Doesn’t the child pay for the parent’s sins?’ No! For if the child does what is just and right and keeps my decrees, that child will surely live. 20 The person who sins is the one who will die. The child will not be punished for the parent’s sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child’s sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness.

Freedom

Read: Hebrews 8:12

12 And I will forgive their wickedness,
and I will never again remember their sins.”

Someone Else

People really don’t want to hear you boast about yourself. Let others praise you.

Read: Proverbs 27:2

2 Let someone else praise you, not your own mouth—
a stranger, not your own lips.

Wait

Bragging can blow up in your face. It is best to wait and see the real outcome.

Read: Proverbs 27:1

27 Don’t brag about tomorrow,
since you don’t know what the day will bring.

Let’s Be Copycats

Abraham was patient and believed God and it caused him to receive God’s promises. Let’s be copycats and believe.

Read: Hebrews 6:14-15

14 “I will certainly bless you,
and I will multiply your descendants beyond number.”
15 Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised.

A Matter Of Truth

When the Sovereign Lord speaks, it is going to happen and that’s the truth.

Read: Ezekiel 11:16-17

16 “Therefore, tell the exiles, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Although I have scattered you in the countries of the world, I will be a sanctuary to you during your time in exile. 17 I, the Sovereign Lord, will gather you back from the nations where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel once again.’

Flattery

Do not be moved by flattery. It’s not real and can hurt if you fall for it.

Read: Proverbs 26:28

28 A lying tongue hates its victims,
and flattering words cause ruin.
