Stench

Don’t follow the stench of people who deliberately sin.

Read: Ephesians 5: 5-7

You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

6 Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. 7 Don’t participate in the things these people do.

No Stumbling

Condemning others is not the way to go.

Guilt

Guilt brings us low and devalues us. Instead, repent quickly and pray.

Psalm 51:10-12

Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
11 Do not banish me from your presence,
and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you.

Boldly

Don’t be shy and don’t be afraid to ask, boldly!

Respect

We must respect the laws of the land by obeying them.

Read: Romans 13:5-6

Therefore one must be subject [to civil authorities], not only to escape the punishment [that comes with wrongdoing], but also as a matter of principle [knowing what is right before God]. 6 For this same reason you pay taxes, for civil authorities are God’s servants, devoting themselves to governance.

Don’t Be Distracted

Don’t miss the warning signs for when you need things to change. If you’re too busy to pray, read the Bible or go to church, you’re too busy.

Read: Joel 2:12

“Even now,” says the Lord,
“Turn and come to Me with all your heart [in genuine repentance],
With fasting and weeping and mourning [until every barrier is removed and the broken fellowship is restored];

Release

Don’t be anxious or fearful. Release that and let go.

Effort

Put in a little extra effort and win.

Read: I Corinthians 9:24

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!

Get Out

If you’re with a group doing wrong and you want out, pray.

Read: Psalm 141:4-5

Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil
so that I take part in wicked deeds
along with those who are evildoers;
do not let me eat their delicacies.

5 Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness;
let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head.
My head will not refuse it,
for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.
