Those Around Us

It’s not about us doing what is right and that’s it. We must teach
what is right to those around us, especially when they don’t know.

Read: Matthew 5:19

19 So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do
the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven.
But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called
great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

When We Can

It really isn’t enough for us to have peace. We have to help others
find peace when we can.

Read: Matthew 5:9
9 God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God.

Rationalize

Those who rationalize sin set themselves up to sin more easily.
Also a half-truth is a lie if it is told as the whole truth.

Read: Genesis 20:11-12

11 Abraham replied, “I thought, ‘This is a godless place. They
will want my wife and will kill me to get her.’ 12 And she really
is my sister, for we both have the same father, but different mothers.
And I married her.

Well-Advised

God can be funny but He never jokes about His promises or His
warnings. We’d be well-advised to take him seriously.

Read: Genesis 18: 13-14
13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did
she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ 14 Is anything
too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year,
and Sarah will have a son.”

Covenant

Even if it looks like an easy way out, do not break your covenant. “I do” means forever.

Read: Genesis 17:7

7 “I will confirm my covenant with you and your descendants[a]
after you, from generation to generation. This is the everlasting
covenant: I will always be your God and the God of your descendants
after you.

Other Kind of Pride

Stay away from the other kind of pride, insidious pride that boasts, brags, schemes, manipulates, exaggerates and falsifies.

Read: Genesis 11:4

4 Then they said, “Come, let’s build a great city for ourselves
with a tower that reaches into the sky. This will make us famous
and keep us from being scattered all over the world.”

Blinded

You do not want to let what is wrong blind you to what is right.

Read: Ezekiel 22:26

26 Your priests have violated my instructions and defiled my holy
things. They make no distinction between what is holy and what is
not. And they do not teach my people the difference between what
is ceremonially clean and unclean. They disregard my Sabbath days
so that I am dishonored among them.

His faithful love endures forever.

Comforted

Things can get oh so hard at times, but know you will be comforted.

Read: Matthew 5:4

4 God blesses those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

Be Open

There are many different ways God can get you a miracle, so be open.

Read: Exodus 4:17

17 “And take your shepherd’s staff with you, and use it to perform
the miraculous signs I have shown you.”
