Make no mistake about it. The Lord has everything under control.

13 For the Lord is the one who shaped the mountains,
stirs up the winds, and reveals his thoughts to mankind.
He turns the light of dawn into darkness
and treads on the heights of the earth.
The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies is his name!
There is always hope. Everyone who has breath can still be saved.

32 But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord
will be saved,
for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape,
just as the Lord has said.
These will be among the survivors
whom the Lord has called.
If you’ve missed it making a wrong turn, stop! Turn around and return to God.

13 Don’t tear your clothing in your grief,
but tear your hearts instead.”
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He is eager to relent and not punish.
It is your responsibility to discipline your children. You’ll be glad you did.

17 Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind
and will make your heart glad.
People of God must take time to rest.
Read: Psalms 127:2
2 It is useless for you to work so hard
from early morning until late at night,
anxiously working for food to eat;
for God gives rest to his loved ones.
Anything can become an idol…work, relationships, family, and possessions when they are put before God. Stay away from idols.
Read: Hosea 14:8-9
8 “O Israel, stay away from idols!
I am the one who answers your prayers and cares for you.
I am like a tree that is always green;
all your fruit comes from me.”
9 Let those who are wise understand these things.
Let those with discernment listen carefully.
The paths of the Lord are true and right,
and righteous people live by walking in them.
But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.
Don’t allow others to influence you with their bad behavior.

11 Dear friend, don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God.
Don’t think more highly of yourself than you should. Give all glory to God.

6 But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say,
“God opposes the proud
but favors the humble.”
You have to guard what’s been built. Be diligent.

8 Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.
Everyone has to take time to get to know God.

6 My people are being destroyed
because they don’t know me.
Since you priests refuse to know me,
I refuse to recognize you as my priests.
Since you have forgotten the laws of your God,
I will forget to bless your children.
